Bhp South Flank Enterprise Agreement

This page contains a list of applications for approval or amendment of a company agreement currently being examined by the Fair Work Commission. The development of the southern flank will help make The C Mining Basin one of the largest full-fledged iron ore processing centres in the world, and it is our privilege to work with BHP again to provide quality assets over the long term. Our extensive mining and resource experience and long history in Pilbara mean we can offer comprehensive construction capabilities, security of supply and high safety and quality standards. We are also focusing on a procurement strategy that provides opportunities for participation, employment and training for Indigenous and local businesses to achieve broader benefits for the community. The development of the southern flank is a component of BHP`s strategy to increase the extraction, processing and unloading capacity of Hubs Mining Area C. CPB contractors will carry out work in and around the existing rail circuit, including: the company agreement accepts job changes, but limits them to a maximum duration of four weeks. The company also failed to reach an agreement or determine whether staff supported the change. At the end of the four-week cycle allowed by the agreement, the union demanded an end to the change of position. The company refused. As the Labour Court of the Fair Work Commission had previously ruled on this issue, the union lodged an appeal. According to CFMMEU Mining and Energy, the member organization of IndustriALL`s World Union, the changes are part of a continuous and progressive war of attrition that the company is waging against the union.
